WBO junior welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (25-0, 12 KOs) retained his title via controversial third TKO against former unified lightweight champion Nate Campbell (33-6-1, 25 KOs) on Saturday night at the Agua Caliente Casino, Rancho Mirage, California. In round three, the larger Bradley began asserting himself when an accidental head butt seemingly cut Campbell over his left eye. Between rounds three and four, Campbell said he couldn’t see and referee David Mendoza waved the fight off awarding it to Bradley. Campbell argued to no avail that the result should have been a no decision.

In a clash for the WBC super lightweight title, unbeaten Devon Alexander (19-0, 12 KOs) claimed the vacant belt by making former champion Junior Witter (37-3-2, 22 KOs) quit after round eight. Alexander was in command throughout, staggering Witter several times before Witter suddenly called it quits after being warned by referee Lou Moret for holding between rounds eight and nine. At the time of the stoppage Alexander was ahead 80-72, 79-73, 79-73. Witter later claimed an elbow injury. The WBC had threatened to not sanction the bout due to the selection of officials by the California Athletic Commission, but later relented.

  1. Don King is a crook what do you expect…….
The man is crazy…..LOL… He has two personalities…….

A two face, I seen him smirking and smiling, an then he pretended to act serious like he cared. Bullshit ! He knew exactly the out come of that fight.
    its all about money.

I guess these boxers will never learn their lesson when it comes to that guy.

That referee was absolutely bullshit and blind as well. The fight could have continued. Any stoppage after the 4th round should be declared a no contest period, what in the hell was that all about.

  2. Notice how HBO mentioned that the Campbell family was facing huge financial troubles. No better way to get more money than BITCH out of a fight to get a ND and force a rematch. He went nuts when he saw his opportunity to get another payday temporarily go away because the ref didn’t see it Nate’s way. What a chump, no way he should wear a Gatti shirt in the ring, he QUIT. Period. Don’t tell me he could not have gone a few more rounds but the lure of money has taken over Campbell. No respect for you Nate, chose a different sport if you can’t take the heat.

  3. Campbell Campbell, What can I say, I don’t know how he can wear that Gatti shirt, walk in with Gatti’s entrance theme song and quit because he though that by playing blind doing he was not going to lose a fight that would have most likely ended in a KO.

Campbell lost that fight the moment he started complaining instead of fighting and he lost me too, he knew the ref didn’t thought it was a head butt that cause the cut, Campbell saw that when he started complaining, yes the ref was wrong, but still a fighter is there to box, do your job, you need to stay in it, he freaked out, took a beating, almost went down and when he came to the corner saw an easy way out by saying ” I can’t see, stop it” that way at least is not a loss, it’s not a KO, that is the reality, BS he couldn’t see, tell that to Gatti, no way to honor a true warrior by quitting and hoping for a no contest.

All in all, he was loosing the fight, he looked old and that is why he played blind, “IF” they fight again it’s going to be an easy win for Tim.
Funny how Don king seems to be on the losing end lately.
