Boxing Fight Posters

In boxing, more so than any other sport are the fight posters an important piece of the boxing advertisement, from the cable companies given posters to showcase what they will have on their platform to the posters being at every promotional stop during the lead up to a fight. Boxing posters are huge.

From posters gracing the walls of boxing gyms to being up in the garages and homes of die hard fans, the posters are proud displays of the sport we love and for many of us, conversation pieces. They are memories of unforgettable fights and great nights with family and friends-for some they are the only piece of memorabilia they may get if they were not able to go to the fight live or the gift someone who went to the fight gave them.

No matter the reason how or why a fan has a poster, fans are always proud to show off their posters of fights past.

While not every fight poster has a slogan the ones that do are typically catchy, clever, and almost always a little exaggerated, but when did underselling a fight ever work?

Oscar De La Hoya seemed to have some memorable fight poster slogans from “destiny” with Shane Mosley, “fight of the millennium” with Felix Trinidad to my personal favorite “bad blood” with Fernando Vargas, De La Hoya posters were always creative.

De La Hoya may be retired but fight posters were here before De La Hoya and are still a around after his retirement from boxing. However Goldenboy Promotions seems to be carrying the torch with creative naming of fight cards as in the past year they have used ” Star Power” which included Floyd Mayweather vs Shane Mosley with Canelo Alavarez on the card to the upcoming “Knockout Kings” with now headliner Alvarez.

While there are a ton of great fight posters throughout the years and a good amount of fight posters to talk about, we here at myboxingfans want to give you the fans a chance to show off your fight posters. Either here on our website, our Facebook page, twitter or instagram. #fightposter #myboxingfans
