Manny Pacquiao was honored by Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and the Southern California Filipino community today in historic Filipino Town in Los Angeles. Pacquiao was honored as “The People’s Champion” for his historic achievements inside the ring and for his philanthropic contributions outside the ring. Pacquiao and Mayor Villaraigosa also dedicated a tree as part of “Day of Service” where volunteers worked to beautify and improve Historic Filipinotown. Pacquiao is in town training for his upcoming world jr. welterweight championship fight against Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton on May 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas,Nevada.
