Hensley “The Bruiser” Strachan (5-8-1, 1KO) of the Bahamas is back as the official opponent to face San Diego, CA’s own undefeated light welterweight Antonio Orozco (9-0, 6KOs) in a scheduled six rounder on Thursday, April 21st. The bout will be part of Roy Englebrecht Promotions’ next card at southern California’s newest fight venue, the Fight Club OC in Costa Mesa, CA.
“I was a bit worried that the fight was not going to happen but thank God I got the call yesterday that it was on,” the affable Orozco said. “We have been training hard and we are ready to put on a show Thursday night.”
As the twenty-three year old father of two boys waited for the latest news of his next opponent, he did not have the luxury to slow down his training and he remained motivated through out, “I have to be ready. In the sport of boxing things like this happen. I can’t lose my composure. My conditioning needs to stay up there so we are more than ready.”
Now that the fight is confirmed and signed, the Frank Espinoza managed Orozco is confident he will make a statement on Thursday night.
“My state of mind is different now that I am sure I am going to fight,” the former amateur stand out said. “My aggression is coming out and I am focused for the fight. Now I am just thinking about the fight and what I have to do to have my hand raised.”
