After Miguel Cotto’s brutal loss to Antonio Margarito, Cotto shocked everyone by getting his body adorned with a multitude of tattoos. Many say that after his first loss Cotto has not been the same. I guess a brutal loss does affect you mentally.

Is not just Miguel Cotto who turned to ink after losing a war. Antonio Margarito also got new tattoos after losing to Shane Mosley last January.

Recently Antonio Margarito got a Koi fish tattoo on his left shoulder and some other Japanese art on his right shoulder at a local tattoo shop in his hometown of Tijuana, Mexico.

According to Japanese legend, a koi tattoo is supposed to represent different things, it just depends on the color, the amount of them and the direction they are swimming in the stream.

5 golden koi is supposed to represent eternal wealth and well being. Each color represents a specific meaning. Some people believe that the color of koi tattoos on your body should be in harmony with you and your surroundings.

Margarito will fight Roberto Garcia on May 8, the Cinco de Mayo weekend, in a 10-round junior middleweight bout in Aguascalientes, Mexico.

What’s your opinion, do you like Antonio Margarito’s new tattoos ?

  2. QUE CHINGEN A SU MADRE LOS Q HABLAN MAL DEL MARGARO, SOLAMENTE DICEN PENDEJADAS, POR Q NO SABEN RECONOCER A UN BUEN BOXEADOR, YA Q PARA SER UNO, NO SOLAMENTE SE TIENE QUE GANAR, TAMBIEN SE TIENE Q PERDER PARA FORJAR EL CARACTER Y APRENDER DE ESOS ERRORES, ARIBBA EL TORNADO DE TIJUANA. MUCHA SUERTE.

  3. I think the tatoos look great!

I agree with earlier comments about the Boxing Comission and the delayed decesion. For Margarito to stay in fighter shape throughout the layoff is physically and more importantly emotionally dificult. Give the man and boxing fans a decision so the sport can move on. Regardless of whether or not he’s “allowed” to prove himself, until a decision is made, in many eyes he’s still one of the best and a contender.

  4. Seriously guys ,I am really perplexed by the
Comission silence .Why the commission is not speaking up and declare whether Margarito is getting his license back or not .
They declared his suspinsion ,but they so rl
reluctant to declare his future .this is brutal seriously .
let the man know his destiny and let’s move on .

Do your job in a professional fashion and slake the curiosity of boxing fans.

Shame on the commission for it’s indifferent
stance and for not getting the job done .
