The former interim WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco (23-2-1, 17KOs) of Tijuana, Mx, by way of Los Mochis, MX, returns to the ring tomorrow night on the undercard of Timothy Bradley versus Luis Abregu in Rancho Mirage, CA.
The ten round bout against African Daniel Attah (24-5-1, 8KOs) will mark DeMarco’s return after coming up short in a title bout against the late Edwin Valero back in February.
“This is a very important fight because I must show that I have fixed the problems I had with Valero,” DeMarco stated before traveling north. “That fight taught me a lot, it showed me that I have to prepare myself even better than before.”
Besides marking the return to the ring for DeMarco, the bout against Attah also gives the southpaw the opportunity to continue to be world ranked by the WBC. DeMarco is expecting for his gym mate Humberto “Zorrita” Soto to vacate the WBC title to earn another opportunity to dispute for the coveted green and gold strap.
