Zab Judah will be facing Amir Khan on July 23 in Las Vegas. The hunt for a new opponent for Khan began after Timothy Bradley turned down Amir Khan’s $1.4 million offer, by far the biggest payday of his career. Khan was confused by Bradley’s decision considering Bradley is who called him out in the first place. Bradley simply walked away with nothing specific lined up.
Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer, who is promoting Amir Khan, told ESPN that even Erik Morales turned down $1.5 million to fight Khan. Morales is currently trying to seal a rematch with Marcos Maidana. Miguel “Titere” Vazquez is also another possible foe for Morales.
Zab Judah was the only big name aside from a rematch with Marcos Maidana. Robert Guerrero’s name was tossed around but was quickly scratched out as the “Ghost” is slated to return August 6 headlining HBO’s “Boxing After Dark”.
Main Events’ Kathy Duva, Judah’s promoter, agreed to a 55-45 in favor of Khan. There was disagreement in the location as Duva wanted the fight to take place in Atlantic City, NJ, but at the end, Sin City was the place to be, Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas to be exact. The bout will be televised on HBO.
He did not call noone out .he was, asked the question and his respond was “I leave it to Arum .”
Yes buddy go hide behind papa Arum .
What a shame.

Boxaholic No problema. Maybe I understood it wrong and over reacted. I am a “boxaholic” too, believe me. I was born into this sport. I come from a boxing family of fighters, trainers and managers. I remember back in the late 50s.as a eight/nine year old, tagging along with my dad and uncle, both of whom were trainers that also managed a few fighters from time to time, to the old fight clubs and stadiums in Puerto Rico and later to New York’s St. Nicks Arena, the old Madison Square Garden, Westchester County Center and other fight clubs in the area and along the east coast. My other uncle , my cousins and myself were fighters, pros and amateurs. I am a collector of fights, I have quite a few thousand, many hundreds of original black and white fights from the 50s and 60s. Anyway, it’s all good. If you are ever in need a rare fight, let me know, I might have it and might be able to get it to you.
Simply ,Khan has balls unlike Bradly.come on people Bradly did not want anything to do with Maidana period .He only faught Alexander ,a bum ,and he was hoping that Maidana beats King Khan ,but he did not get the pleasure of seeing Khan on the canvass .
Then Bradly the coward grew some balls and had the audacity to call out King Khan and then he back out like a pussy.
What kind of man calls some one out and then back out .In my dictionary ,Bradly is the incarnation of a pussy and not forgetting to mention that some pussies have more courage than Bradly .
Some people criticize Khan just out of stupidity
jealousy .Khan is at least is trying to make a fight happened and he looking for an opponents to fight ,whereas, other fighters like Bradly is a big disappointment to fans .
I have respect Khan highly even he losses the fight against Judah just because he got courage and willingness to please the fans .
Floydita and Bradly are an absolute cowards and deeply believe that the sport without them is better off .especially Floydita ,seriously I am not even interested in hearing his name in any boxing forum because he avoiding not only Manny but also other fighter that knows they will knock him out cold .In my eyes Floydita is done with boxing ,but I still believe that he is going to fight Bradly in order for him to look good .Bradly is totally beatable and that is going to the prey for Floydita to rise ,but boxing fans are not credulous and foolish to fall for this nonsense .
@ez e it got cut off i didnt mean to ofend you maybe i frased it wrong
and im not saying amir khan isnt a great fighter hes champion but like i said you were right he was smart for not talking the fight because in the maidana fight i saw a erik morales that lacked many things and thats because hes bin gone, hes in a new weight, he still adjusting and by no means i said he will ko khan but erik morales at 100 percent is dangerous for any fighter again my apologies
iv bin watching boxing for 20 years i think i know a thing or 2 about what im talking about but again everyone has the right to there opinion
@Jonny Yes, especially if we consider that the fact that Erik has scored ONE knockout in the last EIGHT years, that was over a rather limited Brit, Willie Limond, an virtual eight round fighter fighter with a padded record. An interesting note about that particular fight fight is that they BOTH came in OVER the division weight limit (143Lbs) but the WBC/Suliaman STILL sanctioned it as a WBC 140Lbs Super Lightweight Silver Belt title fight. Are we just supposed to believe that he will Kayo Khan?? A kayo is the ONLY chance that he has of winning, he won’t outpoint Khan by no means. He had a difficult time getting by old late sub Francisco Lorenzo in his fight prior to the Maidana fight, and he anit getting any younger.
Now, just for the record, I’ve been an Erik Morales fan for a long time. I thought that it was HE that won TWO out of the three fights versus Barrera. But I’m looking at this REALISTICALLY. If he fights Khan I will WANT him to win!! But… I just don’t believe he will.
EZ E Talking alot of sense. Why do people still insist on questioning Khans chin? He took all the hardest punching light welterweight in the world had to give him and came through it. Speaks volumes.
@Boxaholic ahhhh… So… according to YOU, just because I believe that Khan would stop/defeat “El terrible” Morales means that I DON”t KNOW SHIT ABOUT BOXING?? hmmm… Do I have to agree with everything YOU say or think?? Huh?? Do I?? Man, where have YOU been all my life?? How could’ve I existed so long without YOU?? Please me know when there’s an empty bed next in that psychiatric ward YOU’RE in so YOU can teach me all the SHIT that you DON’T know.
Look Mr Boxaholic, if YOU wish to believe that today’s version of El Terrible is ‘as good as new” just because he looked better than expected against Maidana well then be my guest, I just don’t happen to agree. But I do respect YOU’RE opinion, right or wrong, which in this case I believe it’s WRONG. But there nothing wrong with being WRONG, sir Boxaholic. I’m sure YOU’VE been wrong PLENTY of times, right? Morales looked quicker than the Argentinian but will look slow and without answers against Khan.
Just MY humble opinion and when I want I want YOU’RE opinion.. I”LL GLADY GIVE IT TO YOU!!
Hasta luego!!
Judah is a skillfull fighter but he does burn out and fade afta a few rounds.. I hope he catches khan early and finishes him around 5.. After that i think he will be spent and khan will probably take controll of the fight..
khan and judah going to be a good fight if judah trains well and doesnt fade like jonny boy said but he does have it him.
and for ez e saying that morales was wise for turing down the fight hes right because it would of bin to soon, but if the fight were to happen i think el terrible would put on a good show and probley beat khan not like ez e said less then eight if you really think that you dont really know sh*t about boxing !
and for bradley dont talk the talk if your not down to walk the walk 1.4 thats more money then he ever got pain plus 50-50 anyway its also possible he wants his contract to be over but only he knows but why call someone then not accept the fight ?
Actually, Khan vs Judah might end up to be a pretty okay scrap. Aside from the purse, Morales was wise not to accept this fight. he looked better than expected vs Maidana due to the crudeness of the Argentinian. After 4 rounds Erik was reading the slow sloppy footed Maidana’s wild and wide considerably well. It would be quite the opposite versus Khan, would in my estimation would stop Morales inside eight rounds, at most, probably sooner.
As for the Khan vs Judah fight, we can expect Amir to come in a huge favorite, something like 6-1 or so. BUT.. considering Khan questionable chin and the fact that Zab still possesses some fast hands and punching power, as we saw in his title winning encounter not too long ago, it makes this fight good and interesting in my humble opinion.
Bradley?? Man, he did a lot of talking and I never expected that he’d turn this fight down. Very disappointing to say the least. Maybe he’s not the as advertised “Desert Storm Soldier” they wanted us to believe. Oh well….
finally ,good riddance judah …..yea ,i love bradley, hes underrated but good lord, that dropped him a knotch in my eyes as a guy who’d fight anyone…
Morales turned down $1.5 million, really ???
Go Khan
I still can’t believe Bradley bitched out like that after running his mouth, what little fan base he actually had I’m sure has dwindled even smaller. I can only think he’s holding to let his contract expire and sign with Top Rank to get a shot at Pacquiao and get embarrassed because Khan would have beat him. Bradley is overrated and it’s laughable that he would turn down a 50-50 split and even half of Khans ppv money in Briton which just shows how bad Khan wanted it he’s gained some respect with me there. I think this is an okay fight with Judah but I would rather seen him and Guerrero he’s a big LW and I think he would be even sharper at 140 or even avenge his loss to Prescott who I think after the Bradley fight was scrapped he called out Khan again. It just looks bad on his part that when he’s looking for opponents he has the guy who KO’d him ugly in 1 round right there begging for it anytime and anywhere. Either way we will get a few good rounds until Judah burns out and starts fading. When Khan moves up to WW if he meets Victor Ortiz I see Ortiz winning that fight by K.O.
