WBO Junior Lightweight World Champion Adrien Broner (23-0, 19KOs) remained undefeated following his fourth round technical knockout victory over Eloy Perez (23-1-2, 7 KOs) on February 25, 2012 in St. Louis, Missouri as the co-main event for Devon Alexander vs Marcos Maidana.

Broner was too quick and too strong for Perez. As Broner toyed with Perez, making him look like an amateur, the cocky Broner landed a beautiful straight right along with a barrage of punches sending Perez to the canvas. Perez tried to get up quickly but couldn’t get his balance, falling at least twice and stumbling around the ring. That was enough for the referee to wave it off.

“I caught him with a right hand because my speed is the fastest in the game,” Broner said. “My technique was too much for him at the end of the day.”

As Broner gets his hair combed by his father, Adrien Broner told Max Kellerman after the fight he is “The Can Man”.

“‘Cause anyone who want some can get some,” explained Broner.

Americans, Mexicans and Republicans are all on the list of can-suffixed potential challengers Broner will consider.

Broner is the new Mayweather with his hair-brushing and rapping ring entrance, he makes Mayweather look like a rookie. Broner even fights like Mayweather, using his shoulder to block punches but he is exciting fighter to watch.

I would love to see the winner between Yuriorkis Gamboa and Brandon Rios to face Broner at a catch weight.

  1. Hi is a great figther but he act like an idiot he have to grow mentaly as a boxer an let the inmature behavior and create his style not be the Mayweather soon all his life, be a fan not a fanatic.

  2. I like this kid’s in ring talent, but I simply see him trying to hard to be another Mayweather. Too much flash for my taste but I must say the kid backs it up for the most part like he did this fight. I agree with you Edgar I’d love to see him in the ring with Gamboa, Rios, also Juan Manuel Lopez would be interesting but to me a fight with Gary Russell Jr. in the next couple of years granted that both can continue to win (and when Gary takes a step up in competition) would take the cake both have very quick hands and good power.
