A New Trend in Boxing

Tonight the two biggest boxing promotional companies face off in Las Vegas with their fights cards just miles apart from one another. Previously I wrote that boxing fans win with the duel fight cards in Vegas. While it seems that both cards are at the time can be deemed successful, both have been said to be sold out. Tonight at the fight will show how many people will actually be in attendance.

However, I have began to wonder, what is the long term ramification of having two successful fight cards the same night in the same town?

While these two fight cards prove that boxing is alive and well and when promoted right, with the right fighters, boxing is far from being a “dead sport”. But does the success of the fight cards come at the boxing fans expense?

Will this become a trend in what is already an old and somewhat annoying practice of Goldenboy and Top Rank along with HBO and Showtime of having major fight cards on the same night. Will they now be willing to compete in the same city again? What about Cinco De Mayo weekend?

While this weekend here in Vegas, it’s great to be around some many passionate boxing fans, but does Goldenboy and Top Rank think or even consider if its fair for the fight fans to choose?

Only time will tell but tonight if both fight cards are actually as successful as both promotional companies believe they will be, Cinco De Mayo and maybe even next Mexican Independence weekend expect to see duel cards again.

And then…
Hash House a GoGo is still a must for any breakfast lover. However, if you can go to the original (in Vegas) off of Sahara and Rainbow do it.

People actually go to the pool at 8am and further more I don’t know how some people can stay up all night and still go strong boozing at 8 in the morning. Guess Vegas does that to you.

Here’s to my sisters school, please win this weekend CU.
