Shoppers at The Village at Orange in Orange, Calif. got an extra treat today as all four of the fighters who will be featured on Saturday’s doubleheader on
Showtime Championship boxing. Boxing fans and employees of the mall cheered for both Darchinyan and Arce.
Jorge Arce (51-4-1, 39KOs) told FightNews, “I am ready, and there’s no way I can lose.” When asked about Darchinyan’s behavior and thrash talking, Arce stated, “now that I am here, he looked scared, he wasn’t saying much today as he usually does. I am going to make him pay on Saturday, you will see.”
The Mexican cowboy from Los Mochis, MX, is known for his famous ring entrance in 2007 at the Honda Center when he showed up with a live horse.
“I am never going to forget that night, besides my ring entrance, that was the night I proposed to my wife. I am happy to be back.”
“I am 100 percent ready and I am taking this fight seriously and you would notice a new me Saturday night.”
The Armenian, Vic Darchinyan (31-1-1 25KOs) showed his serious more respectful side.
“I’m not going to say too much about my opponent. I am happy he is 100 percent ready, but come Saturday I will destroy him. He has never fought anyone like me before. I will beat my opponent in the ring no matter what,” stated Vic Darchinyan who currently holds the IBF, WBC and WBA tittles.
Antonio DeMarco (19-1-1, 13 KOs) will be the co-main event as he goes against “Kid Diamond” Almazbek Raiymkulov (27-1-1, 15 KOs) in a 12-rounder for the North American Boxing Organization (NABO) lightweight title.
“I am happy to be part of this fight card. Very few people have given me the opportunity I deserved so Saturday I am not going to let anyone down,” stated the WBC No. 5-ranked contender Antonio DeMarco. “I am dedicating this fight to my wife and my new born daughter.”
