Thompson Boxing Promotions (TBP) continues their streak of providing SoCal boxing fans with action-packed shows and exciting bouts at their events in and around the Inland Empire. The fisticuffs resume THIS Friday, June 26, at the DoubleTree Hotel in Ontario, Calif. THIS Friday, June 26.

Founder/President Ken Thompson and Matchmaker/General Manager Alex Camponovo will present their popular “New Blood” card featuring young talents showcasing their skills in the ring. The main event will feature Jose Roman vs. Marco Antonio Lopez; also scheduled to do battle are Cesar Villaraga, LaRon Mitchell, Javier Lapizco, Jonathan Garcia, Humberto Rubalcava and more.

Their last show on May 29 offered five fiery bouts including a main attraction between Danny “Baby-Faced Assassin” Roman vs. Chris “Marvelous” Martin. It was an-all Cali duel that had the fans on their feet.

This special “Path to Glory” show was in sync with Thompson’s 15th Anniversary of promoting fights in the Southland and beyond. Check out my snapshots from the night as their special anniversary was celebrated.

This event had many champs and prizefighters announced in the ring and honored on the canvas. Ring emcee Sonny Franco introduced five sluggers who received commemorative gold TBP medals in tribute to their connection with TBP. The “Fab Five” honored were Josesito Lopez, Israel Vazquez (who provides commentary for TBP), Raul Franco, Sindy Amador and Carlos Bojorquez (who fought in the very first Thompson show at the Oak Tree Inn).

Also introduced to the crowd were Albert Davila, Rodolfo Gonzalez, Isaac Zarate, Charles Huerta, Fabian Figueroa, Richard Contreras, former Sheriff Lee Baca and more.

The fighters I spoke to expressed their appreciation of getting their start with the Thompson Boxing crew, known for building champs and contenders from the grass roots level.

Be sure to join the crowd Friday night as some hungry young lions get ready to go to war!
