Is it me or has ESPN had a great season of Friday Night Fights? I’ve enjoyed relaxing on a Friday night knowing that I’m going to see a great, even match up of two good fighters on ESPN.
This Friday we saw a matchup between Washington D.C’s Lamont Peterson, a former title challenger and Victor Cayo of the Dominican Republic, a fast unconventional fighter. What was witness was a very entertaining battle of two guys fighting for the right to fight Amir Khan for the IBF title and to survive as one of the top 140 pounders in the world.
With a high action, but gradually one sided bout, we saw Lamont Peterson outbox Victor Cayo for the 12th round knockout.
In regards to our contest, we already have a very even playing field. With an error in points from last weeks Khan-Judah bout, anyone who predicted Khan by some form of KO/TKO will receive 1 point. Its 1 point for KO or UD. Points will be updated.
The results in this weeks contest are as follow.
Wins-Losses (total points including this weeks(+points earned for the week))
Rob Rutz 1-1 (+1(+1:Lamont KO))
Aby predicted Peterson by UD and jumps to 1-1 (+0)
Edgar drops to 1-1 with a prediction of a Cayo KO.
Esteban and Felipe take the lead at 2-0 with the prediction of a Peterson UD.
James, Gabreal and Michele drop to 1-1.
Felipe, Esteban and Michele also earned +1 each for the Khan knockout
(this was mistakenly not awarded last week).
The standings.
1. Esteban 2-0 (+1)
Felipe 2-0 (+1)_
2. Michele 1-1(+1)
Rob 1-1(+1)
3. Aby 1-1 (+0)
Edgar 1-1 (+0)
Gabreal 1-1 (+0)
James 1-1 (+0)
Two weeks in and we are still very close. This week’s prediction is the Kelly Pavlik tune up fight against Daryl Cunningham. Unfortunately, Kelly Pavlik has pulled out of the fight. Stay tuned for our remedy to this week’s fight predictions.
@Felipe You got luck! I need to focus on the next prediction.
Good job Rob. I like the game especially since I’m tied for first. Funny thing, our fearless leader Edgar is barely in the game, bwaa jajaja
