A few months ago we told you about how Fernando Vargas’ manager, Joseph Louis Pecora, was arrested by Ventura County Sheriff’s Department on suspicion of grand theft by embezzlement and forgery. In the civic lawsuit filed by the former champion, many names were included in the complaint including Pecora’s accountant, Martin Marietta, Veronica Bustamante, an employee of Marietta’s; Tax, Accountants and Pecora’s daughter, Christina Pecora. Pecora allegedly pocketed about $400,000 and lost millions by mismanaging Vargas’ financial affairs.
I was contacted by Christina Pecora’s attorney, Glenn Campbell, who confirmed his client has been dismissed by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.
“The civil suit by Vargas against her is being dismissed unconditionally,” stated Glenn via email. “Christina was like Bambi caught in a forest fire, not of her making.”
The other civil defendants have settled with Vargas. Fernando Vargas no longer considers Pecora part of his family as he warns you about him on his website, FernandoVargas.com.
On “Ferocious'” twitter page, he constantly tweets about working and trying to stay in shape, does this mean will be seeing Fernando Vargas back in the ring? We’ll soon find out.
Maybe Vargas can talk James Toney to come out of retirement for one fight. Their both heavyweights right ??
