Its official Former middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik (36-2, 32 KOs) will face Daniel “The Haitian Sensation” Edouard at a catch weight of 164 on the undercard of the November 13 Pacquiao-Margarito mega-card in Dallas.
Seriously, I expected Pavlik to come back and give a spectacular fight after losing his WBC and WBO belts to Sergio Martinez in April. With all due respect, who the heck is Daniel Edouard? Oh that’s the guy who lost to Jermain Taylor (TKO-3), Eromosele Albert (TKO-7) and in his last fight, a 11 round split decision. Its not a typo, eleven rounds to Alfonso Mosquera in July in Panama.
Edouard, 29, is 23-3-2 (14 KO) for his career but has never really beaten anyone worth mentioning.
C’mon, this is a stupid fight and Pavlik knows it, Edouard is just not a legitimate opponent or even a sturdy bounce-back guy. This is pure tune-up material and Edouard shouldn’t be expected to offer much. So disappointed.
@Edgar,
You said it best…it pure tune-up material. I’m not suprised though. Many fighters take easy come back fights.
Tyson fought Peter McNeely after he was released from prison.
At any rate, I enjoyed Pavlik. I hope he can resume his career at the elite level.
