Despite a year-and-a-half out of the ring, former welterweight champion Antonio ‘Tijuana Tornado’ Margarito (38-6, 27 KOs) won a ten round unanimous decision over Roberto “La Amenaza” Garcia (28-3, 21 KOs) on Saturday night at La Plaza de Toros Monumental in Aguascalientes, Ags., Mexico.
The Tijuana Tornado came out strong knocking Garcia out with his aggressive style at the opening bell. Margarito was in command thru the end of the fight. Garcia was just looking for the homerun punch, but Margarito was more accurate and effective with his combinations and easily over powered Garcia. Scores were 99-89, 100-88, 99-90.
yup, he’s all over the ring running around. One instance that Garcia was then like a bull rushing on AM for an intentional headbutt cause he could not catch AM. It was funny that pro boxers loose their composure sometimes and act so stupid.
The only good thing was he got Garcia on the chin in the earlier rounds and got a knock down but margarito showed tired after that. Garcia then able to endure shots of AM that had less power.
Overall, the fight was not that impressive.
I couldnt watch the fight but my bro told me he did not impress and that he started running around the late rounds, looking akward since he never does that. Is that true?
margarito deserves a great respect and credit for his stupendous come back .he deserve a fight with pacriods .
